Virtual gathering on Zoom

Please join us for community connection and celebration. Since our founding in 2020, we have gathered in a virtual space each year to celebrate our wins together, to honor midwives, birthworkers, and changemakers, and to recommit ourselves to the work ahead. If you have not attended a virtual BFF event before, we can’t wait for you to experience the warmth, joy, and connectedness of the Birth Future Foundation Community. Fill your cup with your BFFs.
Your ticket supports grants for midwives and community based organizations who are providing critical reproductive care in underserved communities across the United States. Guests who purchase tickets at the $50 or $100 level will be eligible for a special prize drawing. (United States only.)
Our Birth Future is Liberated
Birth Future Foundation funds midwives, so that all birthing people can choose the birth they want, and get the care they deserve.
When we invest in midwives, we uplift communities.
We know the statistics. We know that the systems are failing us. We are focusing our energy and resources on the solutions. BFF makes grants to support Black, Brown, Indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ midwives, future midwives, and changemakers in the United States. We are BFF. Join us.
$175,000 since 2022
Since we began making grants in 2022, BFF has granted over $175,000! BFF has made grants to 9 community based organizations, 1 researcher, and over 100 midwives and midwifery students. (Read about our grantees.)
BFF’s equitable and ethical approach to grantmaking is revolutionizing philanthropy and shifting power back to communities. (Read about our approach.)

Our Birth Future is Midwifery
A BFF conversation with: Tanzye Hill, Birth Manifesta, Quatia Osorio of the Urban Perinatal Education Center, Aisha Ralph, Taweret Midwifery, and moderated by BFF Executive Director Tanya Smith-Johnson.
The movement for our liberated birth future is powered by changemakers such as the folks we highlighted in this virtual community event. What does our birth future look like? What do the midwives and activists on the ground need? How do we achieve an inclusive future for midwifery?
